It was great, especially how Henry came up with all those great ideas.

This is one of the series of books of Horrid Henry by Francesca Simon. I have notices throughout my last two placements in year three and four that the boys in these classes have particularly enjoyed these books. Those interested seemed to be all eager to begin and finish the book quite quickly and because of this eagerness they found it quite difficult to leave down the book they were reading, this I believe is great to see at such a young reading age. This book is quite a short book with big writing. It is suitable for confident readers in Key Stage 2. This book can be particularly disgusting in certain scenes which children reading it find very comical. The language is very expressive throughout the book which helps set each scene of the story throughout the book. I would recommend this book for guided reading and to inspire bug writing with Key Stage two children.

Horrid Henry is and was my childhood and will forever be, even if this read opened up my eyes to just how truly Horrid he was. For the first time, I sympathised with his poor parents and his little cherubic brother Peter, but that didn't take away from the adorable antics he gets up to. One only emoji for that truly Bogey Babysitter... the middle finger emoji.

I liked it because Henry tried to play tricks on the babysitter.

    The Twins

I read it to the boys yesterday and today and they just loved it - one of the few times they actually sit still for a long time and listen or play quietly with their lego and listen at the same time. A nice change from their constant fighting. My twins are 6 1/2 years old and like how Horrid Henry talks, the tricks he's up to and how naughty he is - how they would like to be but know better!!

Horrid Henry encounters the babysitter from hell, traumatizes his parents on a car journey, goes trick or treating at Hallowe'en, and invades Moody Ma...

hi everyone. this horrid henry book was ok. I read this in about 1hr and 30 minutes and it is good but just needs to step up a bit more. if your child is reading the book at the age of 7-8 then they will struggle because in horrid henry books, there are a lot of blank pages. so it is really hard to understand. but if there was more pictures, that would be absolutely amazing. 8/10

This is quite a childish book , it doesn’t have very good character description and it doesn’t get into detail it’s just a simple story that includes many other short stories about what horrid Henry gets up to.

I have fallen in love with Horrid Henry and his antics he plays on his brother, Peter, and friends. Francesca Simon has created a classic character. A must-read collection by children.

To see how Henry win over what he wants to get is totally enjoyable. Though sometimes it seems he fails in his clever plans, at the end he achieves what he desires-first was sweets from trick-or-treating, second self-controlled night from babysitters, third the victory over his rival, Moody Margaret, and Fourth Ralph's birthday party, though I am not sure that he can actually go to the party. I liked the Bogey Babysitter. In the Horrid Henry's Car Journey all Henry's work was basically for nothing.
