    Jonathan’s writing style is short and to the point without a loss of necessary information. I've just finished a three week eating regime to kick-start my metabolism. Doing that, cold turkey, was tough but now I’m out the other side 11 pounds lighter and feeling all the better for it. What I don't want to do is to drop back into old habits and regain the weight. But I do find many healthy food recipes deficient in taste. I like food and like to enjoy what I eat. The recipes and meal suggestions in this book appear to offer a well thought through, interesting and flavoursome range covering breakfast, lunch and dinner. Once I’ve tried them all I’ll be in a better position to say for certain. Being available as an eBook and downloadable to my iPad kindle reader software helps since you can easily follow the recipe and method while preparing the food.

I first skimmed the book and picked out which recipes I would like to try first and which ones I would probably not try at all (picky eater alert!). I love how Jonathan Vine broke down the different types of vegans/vegetarian lifestyles without making it seem intimidating or overly strict. There are also recipes that allow for adjustments per lifestyle chosen. This book is such a great resource for beginners and those who have been in the lifestyle for a while. Even my children loved some of the recipes and would ask for seconds. So kudos to Mr. Vine because my children rarely ask for seconds on anything with vegetables.

    I am not a vegetarian, but this book has many recipes that would fit into my lifestyle very well – I am also dairy and gluten free but I still found some great ideas in this book. The Onion and Herb Frittata is delicious along with Egg in Avocado. The book is split into sections – Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinners – he includes weight loss tips and other ideas for healthy eating and why to switch to vegetarian eating. Sweet Potato Pasta was good and I just used gluten free noodles instead of wheat l I am not a vegetarian, but this book has many recipes that would fit into my lifestyle very well – I am also dairy and gluten free but I still found some great ideas in this book.     I love all the vegetarian books written by Jonathan Vine. The book includes information about Vegetarianism and the advantages of following it. It includes various recipes useful for weight loss and are separated by recipes for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. The recipes are told in a easy, step by step manner and are easy to prepare. I tried some of the recipes and they are easy to make and are tasty too. Even my picky kids did not have any problems eating them.

I know that true vegetarians and vegans will take issue with this but at least I made an effort over the last few years to try to improve my diet. This book is written in a very non-judgmental way that allows the reader to explore the different aspects of vegetarianism and the vegetarian diet. I believe this book will empower the reader to improve their health and well-being by using the simple everyday ingredie I enjoyed reading this book as I discovered that I was a semi-vegetarian!     Informative and interesting but not what I was hoping for. I was just informed that I must lose some weight and eat healthier in six months or I will have to take diabetics pills... this is something I don’t want to happen. As I said I did learn a lot but I don’t feel the low calorie meals listed would work since a lot of recipes had either oils, sugars, bread, pasta and\or cheeses which I was told to limit\avoid them.

While I Jonathan Vine is back with another entry in Vegetarian eating, this book looks at how the vegetarian diet will help with weight loss and how becoming a vegetarian can help you lose weight. Jonathan covers all of the topics that are essential in following a vegetarian diet from what types of foods to eat in combination to achieve the best vitamin absorption, how to get the most amount of protein as well as foods to avoid all without sounding like he is lecturing you. While I knew that gummy candies are made from gelatin and gelatin is made from animals and I love gummy candy and can over look that, I had absolutely no idea that some beer is filter through fish bladders. ICK! I think I will be passing on the beer for a while :) He covers the many types of vegetarian diets including Vegan. He comes across as an authority on vegetarian diet and how to best succeed following the vegetarian diet and how to lose weight while doing so. He discusses the techniques to follow to make sure that you are getting the most nutritional value from your food as well how to avoid adding extra fat or calories. The book is part diet and weight loss and part cookbook. I found the recipes easy to follow and most of all TASTY! Often times when we are in peak season here in Northern Illinois, I love to hit the farm stand or farmers market and will eat the majority of meals vegetarian, and with this book I have so many new recipes to try when we have more fresh produce available that I am even more excited for summer. I am an omnivore, but I found the book to be well written and very informative and even found several ways to incorporate more vegetables into my diet and to eat the correct things to get the proper amount of Iron, Calcium, Protein and other naturally occurring vitamins all while practicing a vegetarian lifestyle, even though I am not ready to commit to it full time, I love my veggies.

It is not just a cookbook, but an aid in switching to vegetarianism. It explains in detail the different types of vegetarianism and the benefits of the vegetarian lifestyle. The author is very honest about what you can expect from the lifestyle. He also explains what foods are vegetarian and what foods have hidden a I was actually a vegetarian for about a year, before food allergies and intolerances forced me to change my diet. I like how informative this book is on the subject of vegetarianism. It is not just a cookbook, but an aid in switching to vegetarianism. It explains in detail the different types of vegetarianism and the benefits of the vegetarian lifestyle. The author is very honest about what you can expect from the lifestyle. He also explains what foods are vegetarian and what foods have hidden animal by-products. The recipes are great. They are easy to follow and generally contain ingredients that most people already have in their pantries. There are several recipes I’d like to try, but so far have only made one; The Lime-Roasted Tofu. It is a simple marinated, baked tofu recipe. I happen to like tofu, but this may not be a good starting recipe for those new to vegetarianism, as tofu is an acquired taste. I followed the recipe precisely. Even though it did not turn out anything like the photo, I think it turned out alright. The only thing I wish was given more consideration is how to eat at restaurants. My biggest challenge as a vegetarian was that most vegetarian options at restaurants rely heavily on carbs (bread or pasta primarily), fats (lots of cheese), and fried things. Even the salads can have too many calories. This is definitely not conductive to weight loss! Regardless, I think this eBook is a great tool. It also has some great recipes for every meal. This book gives you many tips and tricks to leading a healthier life. There are a few grammar errors but nothing that will make it hard to understand. It's broken up into sections so it's easy to find breakfasts, lunches and dinners. I really enjoyed incorporating some of these recipes into our family meals and would recommend this book to anyone who is wanting to live a healthier lifestyle or even cutting meat completely out of their diet. I checked online and found this from Harvard Health Publications "The cooking method that best retains nutrients is one that cooks quickly, heats food for the shortest amount of time, and uses as little liquid as possible. Microwaving meets those criteria. Using the microwave with a small amount of water essentially steams food from the inside out. That keeps more vitamins and minerals than almost any other cooking method." In conclusion, I thank Jonathan for sharing his recipes. I'd rate the vegetarian recipes a 4 or 5 - they are interesting and look really good!. Overall, I rated the book a 3 though since I do not think that some of his commentary is backed up by science. What would have raised this book up to a 4 or 5 status for me would have been if Jonathan teamed with a nutritionist in writing it.

The book explains that eating as a vegetarian will allow you to get rid of that unwanted fat and body weight, which is an added plus. It also lists the vast health benefits of being on this diet. I love also that it discuss's foods that you can eat, and foods that you should avoid, since being a newbie to the vegetarian diet, I didn't know where to start. Plus they offer 50 or so amazing recipes for you try, which as a beginner, I felt were really yummy, and simple to prepare. I would totally recommend this book to anyone looking to lose weight, and consume a very healthy diet and lifestyle. I received this product in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. Regardless, I only recommend products that I have used and like, and think others would like as well.

But that is not what this book is all about. This book is about switching to a vegetarian lifestyle, and the weight loss is a "side effect" of that, if you will. It is very important if you want to stick to a vegetarian lifestyle, that you eat the proper foods to give your body the proper proteins and other nutrients. The advice tells you how to achieve a healthier diet; as well as what foods to avoid and what foods are the best for you. The recipes provide you with delicious breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks. Yes, there is no need to go hungry to lose weight as a vegetarian. There is even a waffle recipe. 5 stars for 5 star advice for a 5 star lifestyle. Bravo Jonathan!

    I found Mr. Vine's Vegetarian Weight Loss guide to be very informing and useful. I have read some of his recipe books. While this book has a lot of recipes,it also explains the proper way on transitioning into the Vegetarian lifestyle to improve your health. It explains why vegetarian convenience foods are okay in moderation,making things from scratch is key to better health. I especially liked learning how to make your own veggie burgers from scratch. Who knew they could be so simple? Far cheap I found Mr. Vine's Vegetarian Weight Loss guide to be very informing and useful. I have read some of his recipe books. While this book has a lot of recipes,it also explains the proper way on transitioning into the Vegetarian lifestyle to improve your health. It explains why vegetarian convenience foods are okay in moderation,making things from scratch is key to better health. I especially liked learning how to make your own veggie burgers from scratch. Who knew they could be so simple? Far cheaper than buying the convenience ones in stores. This book has some nice breakfast,lunch and dinner recipes. While there weren't any dessert recipes,a few of the breakfast items are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth in a healthy way. I just started using some of these recipes and I have lost about two pounds. I hope to continue to lose more weight a I follow with the book.

Some of them could be made and trust me you would not miss the meat, The baked goods were delicious especially the banana nut bread to die for.     I was sent this ebook to to an honest review for my blog, GlamRiver. I have reviewed a few other by the same author and I love how simple the recipes are and how he also gives a little history & general information regarding what it means to be a vegetarian. I am not a vegetarian myself but have seriously consider it so this cookbook has been a great starting place for me! I highly recommend it!
