I have a lot to say about this book but I think I'll cut most if it out, due to the fact that it is not so popular and sought-after. So, Guinness World Records 2013 is here! What we all have been waiting for; disgusting, horrible, fascinating, beautiful, unique and almost paranormal records that will blow your mind! Some of these you'd like to try on your own and some just give you the chills. Some of these you'd like to try on your own and some just give you the chills. I would have wanted to give this book 4 stars, but there was something that annoyed me. Seeing the 3D with a smartphone. Sure, I have a smartphone. Not everyone does though, and far from everyone wants to install an app just to see the 3D. In one of the previous GWR books there were 3D glasses included, which my family had a lot of fun with. Now everything turns way too digital, and I don't like that. I almost want to put the book down to 2 stars due to it. But I won't, because they layout and records were more interesting than ever. You'd enjoy this book for quite a long time, so if you see it in a book store or library, buy/borrow it!

The book includes the wonders of nature and the universe, interesting animal records, inspirational achievements of human kind, profound collections, and much, much more. All readers should experience the extravagance of Guinness World Records 2013. Guinness World Records 2013 does an exceptional job at naming extraordinary records in nature/the universe that most people would never think about or take for granted. For example, the fastest matter in the universe exists as “blobs of superheated plasma [that] are ejected from black holes… [and] move at 99.99% of the speed of light” (Glenday 26). The book also shows that humans are not the only life forms that can exhibit greatness. Some of the amazing animals in Guinness World Records 2013 include a three-headed turtle, a surgical blade-digesting turkey, and a 23,000 year old sea sponge. As for examining the achievement of human kind, the book notes that there has been a group of 2,081 human beat boxers, a woman who escaped from a straight jacket in 4.69 seconds, a twelve year old chess grandmaster and a man who caught four arrows blindfolded and 43 arrows non-blindfolded (in two minutes). In addition to obtaining records through personal achievements, many people have earned titles based on their possessions. Some eye-catching collections (owned by individuals) that the book displayed consisted of 229 armored vehicles, 4,020 autographed baseballs, 11,345 different license plates, 100,336 hats, 5,631 unique rubber ducks, 35,000 refrigerator magnets, 1,500,000 books, 285,150 ballpoint pens, and 15,000 unique Barbie dolls. For many more awe- inspiring records beyond your wildest imagination, read Guinness World Records 2013.

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. I really enjoyed reading this book because of all the crazy/unique records. For example the unique record of : The youngest person to row a canoe across an ocean solo. Another thing i liked about this book is that it included facts within their claims. For example : In one record they include the fact that Atlas V Rockets have had a 100% success rate sine their first launch in 2002. To back up a rocket record. My last reason why I liked reading this book is because these records don't focus on one record categories but many types. For example; one categorie was the lightest person while other records were about speed, or video games, and sports. This was something i enjoyed because reading only about only one record can be boring.

One of the record broken was how many balls someone can juggle.Eleven at a time. This hole book is about records getting broken. I conclude that someone will beat the record of how many balls can be juggled at one time.

The Guinness World Records books were very fun to read. It was written by the same people who write all the world records books. I really liked the book because it was very informative and fun to read a lot of achievements that other people did. I liked them because it show a bunch of cool facts and the people who wrote those stuff were probably the people who write the book which was the Guinness Book of World Records people. A major theme in the book was what people have accomplished stuff in their lives and the things that they worked hard for.

Guinness World Records, known from its inception in 1955 until 1998 as The Guinness Book of Records and in previous United States editions as The Guinness Book of World Records, is a reference book published annually, listing world records both of human achievements and the extremes of the natural world. The book itself holds a world record, as the best-selling copyrighted book of all time. As of the 2017 edition, it is now in its 63rd year of publication, published in 100 countries and 23 langu Guinness World Records, known from its inception in 1955 until 1998 as The Guinness Book of Records and in previous United States editions as The Guinness Book of World Records, is a reference book published annually, listing world records both of human achievements and the extremes of the natural world. The international franchise has extended beyond print to include television series and museums. And that's my book summary. I like this book because there are a lot of pictures and a lot of world records.

The book has a variety of different topics like space, animals, society and more. You will find interesting facts about things you never heard off. Did you know that the largest gathering of people dressed as pirates had 8,734 people involved and took place in UK? These are things you normally don't think about. Did you know that the largest hot dog was made by Gorilla Tango Novelty meats in the USA and weighs 3.18kg, it is 40.64cm long, has the diameter of 10.16cm and costs 89.95$? Here wore just a few but there are tons more, like the largest glove (2.82 meters tall) or the longest living snake (7.67m long) I found this book really interesting and I've learned some crazy facts about this world. My favourite part was when it talked about human achievements. My least favourite part was the section about space because the facts wore not interesting to me. I would recommend this book to boys and girls ages 9 and up.

I got my first GWR in 1999 and have had every single one for Christmas since. I remember buying the 1994 edition years and years ago at a school fair. Full of fascinating facts, most useless some useful and a fun read for all ages. In the days of the Internet and eReaders it's nice to think that people still enjoy books like these and I hope they are never stopped and moved completely digital because I enjoy collecting them.

This book could be used in many ways. Students could use this book as a conversation starter. Students could respond in written form regarding various world records. This book would spark more questions and encourage students to read more. This book could be used to discuss change over time. (Students could view previous Guinness World Record Books and discuss why or how certain world records have changed.)

This book never disappoints me every year in terms of quantity of pages, how it is laid out and the design. In the 288 page book you can view records from categories such as: Adventure Animals Entertainment Green Earth Humans Human Achievement Science Society Space Sports World Tour This is a must buy to view all of the Guinness World Records achieved in 2012.
